The A.S. Basketball San Severo is one of the most glorious company of Puglia: 40 years continuously affiliated with the Italian Basketball Federation. Founded in the summer of 1966 as G.S. Cannelonga Mobili, participate in the championships promotion until 1969/70, when it is promoted in series D. On July 23, 1970 assumed its present name, never changed, AS Basketball San Severo.
From that day he took part in 8 championships Series D, Series C 9 / 1, 8 Series C, 4 and 7 of series B and Series B/2.
To his credit there are also dozens of titles won in the provincial and regional youth championships, as well as participation in numerous national competitions and the organization of prestigious events such as some national tournaments and absolute youth.
The company currently has several registered players, including a thriving industry minibasket. From nursery has emerged over the years a great star of Italian basket as Walter Magnifico, who ten years ago, together with old comrades of the seventies, attended the celebration for the return of B team. Magnifico started from basketball to triumph in many competitions with the national team and Scavolini Pesaro. Many, many other players emerged from the nursery, some of whom later played for several teams in Serie A and B.
The sample and the symbol of basketball was instead Mario Del Vicario, captain of many battles, and certainly more than any other player who has tied his long and distinguished career with the colors gialloneri, inseparable symbols of the club, and also included in this bylaws.
